After he graduated from high school, Prince William did a short stint with Raleigh International, a group which allows young people to sail and camp in various challenging areas. Expedition leader Malcolm Sutherland said the weather during the portion of the trip that was in Chile was some of the worst he'd seen and that, because of the attendant challenges, one boy who was from a youth risk program and had been involved with drugs, started shouting and swearing during the trip. Sutherland said that, to his surprise, the prince was the one who stepped forward to calm the situation. "He connected with that boy and was the only person that could," Sutherland said. "He told him to sort himself out but in such a way that they became very good friends afterwards.... it was very impressive and it surprised a lot of people as well."
