Streak snapped: Aug. 14, 2011. Uggla went 0-for-3 and was in the on-deck circle when the game against the Cubs ended.

Background: When Uggla began the streak he was hitting only .173, the lowest average of any regular National League player.  During the streak he had 15 homers and 32 runs batted in, while raising his batting average to .231. ... The 33-game streak was the longest in the majors in five years and the longest for a Braves player since the team's move to Atlanta in 1966. Rico Carty previously held the Atlanta record, with a 31-game streak in 1970, while Tommy Holmes of the old Boston Braves still holds the overall Braves record with his 37-game hitting streak in 1945.
