2003 with St. Louis Cardinals

Lifetime batting average: .323

Streak occurred in: 3rd year of still-active 13-year major league career

Streak snapped: Aug. 22 when Pujols went 0-for-5 in a loss to the Phillies. He struck out twice and line out to shortstop in his final at-bat

Background: Pujols may have been a little rusty when the streak ended, having missed the previous four games – two while serving a suspension and two while ill. He didn't, however, cite that as a reason for going hitless ... the 30-game streak tied Pujols with Stan Musial for the second-longest hitting streak in franchise history. Rogers Hornsby set the club record by hitting safely in 33 consecutive games in 1922.
