The middle of the country holds vast amounts of the nation's resources. It's not just oil and gas in Texas and North Dakota; It's solar in Arizona and wind in Nebraska. Together, these nine states make up 46 percent of the nation's energy production, according to Saxum's calculation. The company calls it "America's energy hot spot."
