Heivoll, who releases his first English-language novel with "Burn," tells the story of a Norwegian village that experienced multiple incidents of arson over one month in the 1970s. The author was very young when the crimes occurred and he pieces together what happened through the recollection of other village residents. The identity of the arsonist is revealed early on, so Nelson calls it a "whydunit." "It's sort of a memoir within a novel," she says of the book. "It's an analysis of this small town and rumor."
