Stephen King's latest novel returns to the story of Danny Torrance, first seen as a child King's 1977 blockbuster "The Shining." Danny is now Dan, an adult working at a nursing home, helping the dying with the use of his special powers known as the "shining." Soon, however, he becomes aware of the activities of a group of people known as the True Knot, who search for children with his abilities and put them to horrible uses. Nelson says that while fans of "The Shining" will take a special interest in this book, it is also fully accessible to newcomers to King's work.
