Lee, a first-time author, includes recipes from his award-nominated restaurant and tells stories of how he came to be a professional chef who owns the Kentucky restaurant 610 Magnolia and has competed on "Top Chef." Nelson says Lee's tales of the cooking world and his time growing up in Brooklyn in a family from Korea, then moving to Kentucky, makes the book stand out from other recipe collections. "This kind of transcends the [cookbook] genre," she says.
