It all begins when Joseph, employed as a footman, refuses the advances of his employer, Lady Boody, and her servant, Slipslop. When he is fired, Joseph begins a journey with his companion, Parson Adams, in order to find his love, Fanny Goodwill. Along the lines of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, the inherent good will of the duo faces strong complications when Joseph locates Fanny, who, it turns out, may actually be his sister. This sexy farce about friendship and virtue makes a satire of Samuel Richarson's novel "Pamela."
