8. 'Little Dorrit'

The BBC took on a mini-series adaptation of the novel in 2008, with "Pride and Prejudice" actor Matthew Macfadyen playing Arthur, Tom Courtenay of "Doctor Zhivago" playing Amy's father William Dorrit, and "Lord of the Rings" actor Andy Serkis playing the villainous Frenchman Rigaud. The cast and the script adaptation won praise from critics.
