7. Are there any other countries in the mix in Syria?

Several, mainly Western and Gulf countries as part of the coalition to defeat IS. Other than the US, which is spearheading the air campaign against IS in Syria, contributors include France, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain. Britain has conducted surveillance flights with pilotless drones, and has carried out at least one drone attack against IS militants.
