Vince Cable is Jeremy Hunt’s predecessor as the culture secretary in David Cameron’s Conservative government. A member of the Conservative’s junior partner, the Liberal Democrats party, Mr. Cable was set to adjudicate the attempted News Corp. purchase of BSkyB, but was forced to step down after he was caught telling undercover Daily Telegraph reporters that he had “declared war on Mr. Murdoch.”
