Stevie Wonder takes over the White House - Obamas don't mind

These press guys at the White House are good.

Yesterday they announced that Stevie Wonder is going to be playing at the White House later this month.

They released the information on Friday the 13th. Wonder's best song? Superstition.

Wow. These guys are masters.

Sure, they blew it earlier this week when Barack Obama kept saying that Caterpillar would rehire some of the 20,000 people they laid off if his economic stimulus passed.

Caterpillar denied this saying they would actually fire more people instead.

But it sounded good.

Anyway, the 22-time Grammy Award winner will perform at the White House on February 25 in the East Room. Wonder will be awarded a Gershwin Prize for Lifetime Achievement from the Library of Congress.

Wonder was a prominent part of the Obama campaign. Not so much him personally, but his music was heard at nearly every campaign stop. And not hits like "I Just Called to Say I Love You" or "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," but the songs that you could get into, like "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and "Higher Ground."

If you haven't received a personal invitation to the event on 1600 Pennsylvania, Ave., don't worry. The concert will be broadcast on PBS the following evening.

Although the economic stimulus package turned out to be anything but bipartisan, Wonder receiving Gershwin Prize is something that all Democrats and Republicans should agree on. Maybe the only thing there'll be arguments over is what song is Wonder's best.
