Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
The church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we’ve aimed “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind,” as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.

Betty's troubles with her and Don's daughter Sally continued as Betty announced that she was ready to move, meaning Sally would be leaving behind her friend Glen Bishop. Betty had fired the Drapers' housekeeper, Carla, after finding out that Carla had allowed Sally to say goodbye to Glen. In the finale, Betty waited for Don to come over to see her and, despite being married to her second husband Henry, seemed ready to embark on an affair with Don, but Don told her that he was engaged.
