Angelina Jolie, the American actress, screenwriter, director, and author has a net worth totalling $145 million from her lucrative career in Hollywood. But that has not stopped her from giving back or stopped her role as humanitarian.

Jolie is well known for her charity work, and is the co-founder of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. She has been on field missions to over 20 countries around the world since 2001, meeting with refugees and internally displaced persons in Sierra Leone, Pakistan, Kenya, Egypt, Costa Rica, Chad, Syria, and Iraq. She is involved in nearly 30 charities and is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

When asked what she hoped to accomplish by meeting refugees on the field, the humanitarian said, “Awareness of the plight of these people. I think they should be commended for what they have survived, not looked down upon.”
