The 1977 sci-fi film had Spielberg working again with "Jaws" star Richard Dreyfuss, who portrays a man in Indiana who runs across a UFO. According to "The Making of Close Encounters of the Third Kind," Spielberg was partially inspired to make the film by an experience he had during his childhood when he went to see a meteor shower with his father.
