Spielberg's 2002 film about real-life con man Frank Abagnale Jr. teamed him with Tom Hanks again when Hanks played the FBI agent who hunts Abagnale, with Leonardo DiCaprio taking on the role of the teenage con. Spielberg originally came on as producer before two other directors dropped out and he took on the job. The real Abagnale makes a cameo in the film, as one of the agents who meets DiCaprio near the end of the film in a pivotal scene.
