While iOS 7 introduces a number of new ideas, the team at Apple also stole a few features from other places. One of the most obvious examples of pilfering is the ability to take square, filter-heavy photos, à la Instragram.
The Camera app now includes four different modes and nine filters. A sliding dial just above the shutter button lets you roll through the various modes: video, photo, square, and panoramic.
Unlike Instagram, the Apple's Camera app lets you choose a filter before or after you snap the photo. Just tap on the Venn diagram icon in the bottom-right corner. The top three filters offer various versions of black-and-white photography, from the simple grayscale of "mono" to the moody, grainy look of "noir." The bottom row adds a touch of color, with "process" mixing in a hint of blue and "instant" applying a yellow hue.
