Why Baskin Robbins' newest flavor is hard to spot

A tasty treat for a good cause? There's no better reason to indulge than Baskin-Robbins new First Class Camouflage ice cream, a special flavor the company rolled out for the month of November to honor Veterans.
The newest flavor is a combination of chocolate, "salty" caramel, and vanilla cake, swirled into a brown, tan, and green camouflage-like treat.
"Chocolate, Salty Caramel, and Cake flavored ice creams team up to make a flavor so delicious, you’ll never see it coming," quips Baskin-Robbins on its website.
The Camo flavor, which is Baskin-Robbins' November flavor of the month, but in honor of Veteran's Day on Nov. 11, the company will donate 10 cents from every ice cream scoop sold to United Service Organizations (USO).
There's plenty of ways to enjoy the new flavor. Besides the First Class Camouflage ice cream flavor, Baskin-Robbins also rolled out brown-tan-and-green Camouflage waffle cones and bowls, as well as a sundae. The First Class Camouflage sundae layers Oreo pieces, caramel praline topping, hot fudge and whipped cream.
It's not the first time the company has revealed unusual flavors and products. In past, Baskin-Robbins has introduced Turkey Cake, an ice cream cake in the shape of an glossy roasted turkey; Trick Oreo Treat, a cookie-candy-and-cream flavor with orange-creme filled Oreo cookie bites; and Ice Cream Nachos, waffle chips to dip into soft serve ice cream and toppings.
Of course, in the case of First Class Camouflage, there's a silver - or should we say, brown-tan-and-green - lining. Not only will the company donate 10 cents from each cone to the USO, it is also offering a special veteran's incentive program for U.S. veterans seeking to open a Baskin-Robbins franchise in the U.S. As part of the program, Baskin-Robbins will waive the 20-year initial franchise fee of $25,000 for opening a Baskin-Robbins store.
It turns out military service is a key ingredient in the company's founding: Baskin-Robbins was founded in 1945 by ice cream enthusiasts and brothers-in-law Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, who both served in the military during World War II.
