Starting wages: $13.00

Costco, the second-largest US retailer behind Walmart, raised its minimum wages in March from $11.50-12.00 to $13.00-13.50. However, the average pay for employees at the company is over $20 an hour. Costco has a reported 84 million members of its company credit card program and plans to open 30 new warehouses in 2016.
