Minimum hourly pay: $10.76

On June 26, 2014, Ikea announced it will raise the average minimum hourly wage for workers to $10.76. “This stems back to Ikea’s decision to create a better everyday life for our people,” Rob Olson, Ikea’s acting president for the United States and its chief financial officer, told The New York Times. The minimum hourly pay depends on where the store is located. The Swedish furniture company will base the pay for each city using the MIT Living Wage Calculator, which takes into account housing, food, transportation, and taxes.
