Reader recommendation: All God's Dangers

I recently finished Theodore Rosengarten's All God's Dangers: The Life of Nate Shaw. What a beautiful book. It's the story of life in the American South as a sharecropper in Alabama (1885-1973) told in Shaw's own mellifluous cadence. Rosengarten shows the sadness and strength, the anger and quiet dignity of an incredible man. I think it should be read in every school – right beside Faulkner, Twain, and Harper Lee.
