Every February several new Lincoln biographies appear. This engaging newcomer recounts a lesser known chapter of Lincoln's life. Attorney, author, and Lincoln historian McGinty writes about an 1856 case pitting steamboats against railroads – a lawsuit that he argues was crucial in vaulting skilled attorney Abraham Lincoln to the White House.
