The author of the "Hunger Games" trilogy fell far on this year’s list, from $55 million in 2013 to a relatively paltry $16 million in 2014. The reason? An 88 percent drop in sales of her dystopian trilogy. Still, Collins sold 3.3 million copies of her "Hunger Games" books, and the movie adaption of "Catching Fire" grossed more than $425 million in the US alone – not too shabby, even for an off year.
