"Ragtime" author Doctorow is behind the story of Andrew, a narrator telling his life's story to someone. The reader is never quite sure who he's talking to, and many other parts of the tale are mysterious as well. "It's an interesting take on the unreliable narrator," Nelson says of the novel. She also notes that "Andrew" is a bit of a departure for Doctorow, who usually spins epic stories rather than a book focusing on a single character. "This one is a little more close-up," she says.
