Pulitzer Prize-winnng author Jhumpa Lahiri shines again with this story of brothers, born 15 months apart in Calcutta, who opt for different paths in life. Udayan gives himself to a home-grown rebellion, while Subhash chooses instead to live in academic circles in the US. But when Udayan meets with tragedy, Subhash has no choice but to return to his homeland and once again mesh his own life with that of his brother.
