Bob Shacochis, author of "Swimming in the Volcano," tells the story of Tom Harrington, a lawyer who goes to Haiti to learn more about the death of Jackie, a photojournalist with whom he was personally acquainted. As he learns more about what happened to Jackie and her bodyguard, Tom is forced to delve into his own past, including his relationship with Jackie. Nelson says the novel reminds her of the works of Graham Greene.
