"American Wife" author Curtis Sittenfeld explores the relationship between twin sisters with mysterious powers. As they grow to adulthood, one sister, Kate, tries to ignore her ability to see the future and glean information about others, while twin Violet revels in it. Nelson points to the novel as another example of Sittenfeld's interesting female characters. "She really gets into the heads of young women," she says. "[Twins are] a very rich relationship to explore."
