If you select a random screen name, then anything you post on websites will be completely anonymous, right? Wrong, says Senning. "There are many ways to be identified online," he writes. "Personal information or a unique perspective could identify you to those 'in the know' as quickly as if you had included your full name and e-mail address. Consider what you post on the Internet to be public and permanent and think before you fire off any negative product reviews or a passionate political screed."
