As you might expect in a tome that promises 210 solutions, there is definitely some pat content here. But because of the wide focus, just about any writer will probably find something useful in Help! for Writers. Plus, what seems simplistic to one writer could be revelatory to another – I found Clark’s chapter on maintaining an organized workspace useful because I have struggled to do this since elementary school. Overall, the book seems particularly suited to young writers who are new to the creative process.
