This second book in Meltzer's "Culper Ring" trilogy (following "The Inner Circle") again features archivist Beecher White. This time White must investigate a killer who seems to be taking lessons from some of America's most notorious assassinations. Nelson calls this novel "disturbing" and credits Meltzer with having "done his historical homework."
