10 best books of October, according to Amazon's editors

Sara Nelson, editorial director of books and Kindle for Amazon.com, talks about the 10 books chosen by Amazon editors as the best of October, 2012.

4. "The Round House," by Louise Erdrich

"The Round House," the latest novel from award-winning author Louise Erdrich, is what Nelson calls "'To Kill a Mockingbird' set on a reservation." This book, which is "somewhat" of a sequel to Erdrich's 2008 novel "The Plague of Doves," tells the story of a young boy whose mother is raped and the struggles of both of them to come to terms with the event. Nelson, who sees Erdrich as a bit "undersung" in the pantheon of great American writers, says she is currently "driving everyone crazy telling them how much I love this book."
