Don’t forget our Canadian e-book cousin to the north, Kobo, which is set to launch in Brazil this fall. Priced under $200, the Kobo Vox may be a more affordable alternative to the iPad. With it, users can access the Web, email, and download apps, and of course, books. As for the Kobo Touch, Gadget Review calls it the minimalist-friendly e-reader, a simple, intuitive, elegant, easy-to-hold e-reader that gets high marks for compactness, convenience, and value. It is quite simply, writes Gadget Review, “the simplest, easiest way to read books.” Sounds like a winner for Mom.
