7. Raul Julia

Langella went for a weekend on Julia's farm in upstate New York with another friend, Barry Primus. He quickly realized that neither Primus nor Julia knew how to cook, so Langella made every meal during the weekend. When the dishes ran out, he set up Primus and Julia at the sink, where, Langella says, Julia cheerfully washed the dishes while loudly singing opera. "You know," Langella says Julia told him, "Merel [Poloway, his wife] wants me to get her a dishwasher, but I'm not going to. This is fun."
