Weil learned that it's not always a good idea to take advice, even from the "experts." She discovered this when she met with a rabbi and asked him how to improve her marriage. They began discussing the faith of her children, who were raised as both Christian and Jewish. The rabbi said that the children should choose one religion and not mix the two. Weil went home and told her husband that they should embrace the idea, but her husband disagreed. Weil realized he was right. Their two daughters loved the traditions of both faiths. If this aspect of their marriage wasn't broken, why fix it?
