Colin Hendrick, who works as a police officer in the city, remembers when he started out as a police officer and began the training with an older officer, making house calls at the age of 19. "You are just left to deal with it," Hendrick said of going into situations with an older co-worker. "You don't know what's going to happen when you go to that address. It could be a marital dispute and you're telling the bloke, 'You've got to leave'... and he says, 'Really? I've got kids older than you, mate'... you're scared, but when you've got the uniform on, you deal with it. You haven't got any choice."
