Sara joined the Monitor staff in 2015 after receiving her M.A. from Columbia Journalism School.
She grew up in New Jersey before moving to the Middle East in 2007. Originally Lebanese, she holds a B.A. in sociology from the American University of Beirut and has worked with Transterra Media, a Beirut-based international news agency. Before coming to the Monitor, she was a junior editor at NeoPromo, a publishing house based in Dubai. She enjoys covering social justice, culture and international news, particularly the Middle East.
When she's not reading or writing, Sara likes to play bass, take photos and watch FRIENDS reruns.
