Chelsea Sheasley is the Monitor’s Deputy National News editor, based in Boston. She works with national editors and reporters to shape coverage of topics ranging from immigration and politics, to the Supreme Court and the environment.
Chelsea was an education reporter at the Monitor during the COVID-19 pandemic. She covered remote schooling, learning loss, high-impact tutoring, homeschooling and learning pods, as well as debates over pandemic protocols, critical race theory, how U.S. history is taught, and the role of parents in education.
Previously, Chelsea served as Asia editor for the Monitor and reported from Pakistan through a journalism exchange program. She also reported from Israel and the West Bank while interning with the Monitor’s Jerusalem bureau chief.
