Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The Palestinian leadership is expected to submit its application for membership to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon on Friday, when Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to address the General Assembly (GA). Mr. Ban will then pass on the application to the UN Security Council, which must review all membership bids.
This may be all that happens on the statehood bid, procedurally, at the GA meeting. It could take months for any further developments.
