If you're trying to find relatives after the Haiti earthquake, here are some key ways to get in touch:
The International Committee of the Red Cross has set up a Family News Network in English and French where both relatives and survivors can register. It already has hundreds of entries. Click here to enter the database.
The US State Department asks Americans who are looking for family members in Haiti to call 1-888-407-4747. Due to the heavy volume, callers may get a recording. Outside of the US, call 202-501-4444.
Also, Americans in Haiti can call the Embassy's Consular Task Force at 509-2229-8942, 509-2229-8089, 509-2229-8322, or 509-2229-8672. They can also e-mail ACSPaP@state.gov to request assistance.
