Suddenly, when Spaniards, Italians, and Greeks live the merciless daily budget cuts, a French candidate has crystallized a possible alternative, a light at the end of the tunnel.

No matter that hope rests on a gigantic misunderstanding: Many in France believe that the ‘growth’ miracle cure proposed by Hollande will allow us to escape the painful structural reforms if implemented by our neighbors.... [But] ‘each passing day, France has to borrow 500 million euros.’ The election of Francois Hollande has not changed the equation there.”
