According to a briefing on the wedding released by St. James Palace, about 5,000 police officers will be on the streets Friday, many of them undercover. Almost 1,000 of them will be lining the royal procession route. Eleven thousand barriers are being used, 35 bomb sniffing dogs will be in action, and nine mounted police officers will escorting the royal carriage.
There will also be three patrol helicopters with video cameras patrolling the area, according to Time. And for those heads of state invited and attending, 80 teams of bodyguards will be on duty to escort them around the city.
According to Sky News, an additional 1,000 police officers will be on reserve to address any trouble outside the main zone being secured. Roads around the procession will be closed beginning at 6 a.m.
