What do 'social inclusion' rankings tell us about the child migrant crisis?

For the third year, America's Quarterly has ranked Latin American countries and the United States based on social inclusion. How do these countries stack up?

Most inclusive: Uruguay

Led by President José Mujica, referred to as the world’s poorest president, the South American country of 3.3 million ranked for the second year in a row as the most inclusive country among those included in the study.

Uruguay was given high marks for its economic growth, access to adequate housing and formal jobs, and the high percentage of people living on more than $4 per day, which the World Bank defines as the threshold for moderate poverty.
