Twice, by Barry Sanders of Oklahoma State, in 1987 and 1988

This surely must be among the most obscure records on the books, but it speaks to the elusiveness that made Barry Sanders him one of the most electrifying players of the last 30 years. Both returns were for 100 yards, the first in 1987 against Tulsa, and the second in 1988 against Miami of Ohio. A member of both the College and Pro Football Hall of Fame, Sanders won the 1988 Heisman Trophy when he not only returned punts and kickoffs, but was a prolific running back who led the nation by averaging 7.6 yards per carry and more than 200 yards per game.
