The perception some have is that the Spurs are an aging team whose days among the NBA’s elite are numbered, while the Thunder are a bunch of frisky and talented young pups on the rise. To a degree, at least, this may be accurate, since San Antonio’s three big stars – Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobli – have all logged between 10 and 15 years in the league. Beyond the Big Three, however, they are a younger team than the Thunder, with three rookies and nine players altogether with no more than three years of NBA experience. By contrast, Oklahoma City has only one rookie.
For the record, the teams have met three times during the regular season, with the Spurs winning twice.
