HealthCare.gov: Five questions about the problem-riddled rollout (+video)

Nobody, including President Obama, is sugarcoating the problem-riddled launch of HealthCare.gov, where uninsured Americans can buy health coverage. Here are five questions about what’s happened.

3. Do the problems with HealthCare.gov mean that Obamacare is broken?

Not necessarily. Analysts expect HealthCare.gov to work sooner or later. The real test of the ACA will be whether enough healthy people buy insurance to offset the cost of adding people with health issues to insurance rolls. (Under the law, insurance companies may no longer deny health coverage to those with preexisting conditions or kick them off their insurance if they get sick.)

But the rocky rollout has given Obamacare a black eye – and raised questions about whether enough healthy people will enroll. Those Americans most motivated to work through the site's problems are probably those most in need of insurance.
