The Pentagon battles cyber-attacks on its systems – as many as 250,000 on its classified computers last year alone. So DARPA is offering a $2 million prize for the team that can create a computer that has an automatic defensive system, “capable of reasoning about flaws, formulating patches, and deploying them on networks in real time.”
The competition, Cyber Grand Challenge, begins in June 2014. DARPA plans to announce the grand prize winner in the summer of 2016.
