Family members have identified two of the three people killed in attacks at Jewish-affiliated facilities near Kansas City as a man and his 14-year-old grandson.

Will Corporon issued a statement saying his father, Dr. William Lewis Corporan, and nephew, Reat Griffin Underwood, were killed in Sunday's attack outside a Jewish community center in Overland Park, Kansas.

The family is Christian.

Dr. Corporan and his grandson were killed Sunday when a man fired shots behind the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City in Overland Park. The gunman then fled and opened fire at nearby Village Shalom, killing a woman, before being arrested near an elementary school.

Village Shalom is a Jewish retirement center a few blocks away from the community center.

Authorities haven't released the name of the woman killed in the attack.

Police arrested a man in his 70s after the shootings. They haven't released his name but have said they don't think he knew the victims.

Police have declined to say if they think the attack was motivated by anti-Semitism.

President Barack Obama is offering condolences to the families of those killed in Sunday's shootings, saying reports of the shootings were "heartbreaking."

Obama says he has asked his White House team to make sure law enforcement authorities have "the necessary resources to support the ongoing investigation." He is pledging the full support of the federal government during what he called "this trying time."
