Palm Bay shooting leaves one wounded at Eastern Florida State College

Palm Bay shooting: Palm Bay police report that two men were beating up on another man Thursday afternoon. The man being attacked retreated to his vehicle, where he grabbed a gun and shot one of his attackers in the chest.

Official say a man was shot and critically wounded at the Palm Bay Campus of Eastern Florida State College.

Palm Bay police report that two men were beating up on another man Thursday afternoon. The man being attacked retreated to his vehicle, where he grabbed a gun and shot one of his attackers in the chest.

Officials say the man with the gunshot wound and the shooter were both hospitalized. Florida Today reports that the third man was being questioned by police.

None of their names were immediately released.

A college spokesman says the campus was placed on lockdown, and all classes were canceled for the rest of the day.
