Jon Favreau's 2003 film stars Will Ferrell as Buddy, a human who was raised among the elves at the North Pole and, when he journeys to New York to find his real father, finds himself a fish out of water.

Musician Leon Redbone, who also performs "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and "Winter Wonderland" in the film, provides the voice for the character of Leon the Snowman.

Actor Artie Lange portrays the unnamed man who is playing Santa for the department store Gimbel's when Buddy rans afoul of him.
