'The Godfather' director Francis Ford Coppola took on Stoker's novel with the 1992 adaptation, which starred Gary Oldman as the vampire and Winona Ryder as Mina Harker. The movie added back in characters such as Arthur Holmwood, though the film added a reincarnation angle, which claimed Mina was the reborn form of Dracula's original wife. The film did well at the box office and received a good reception from critics. Time Magazine critic Richard Corliss wrote that "Coppola brings the old spook story alive – well, undead – as a luscious, infernal romance."
